The FAQ
How do we book you?
Our preference is that you communicate with us via email at Lana.everitt@gmail.com but happy to answer queries through instagram DM.
A deposit will need to be received by us before booking date is secured. A Client contract will be forwarded to you with all of the session details and will need to be signed prior to commencement of the session.
Where are you located?
I offer photography services all over the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne South East suburbs in Victoria. My home studio is located in Botanic Ridge.
Do you Travel?
Absolutely. We love doing outdoor family and maternity sessions during golden hour. Chat with us about ideal location shoots to get the best possible experience and outcome. Travel fees may apply.
How many photos do we get?
This will depend on what package you choose so please discuss this with us further. A more accurate number will be given to you when signing the client contract.
How do we get our photos?
All photos will be delivered to you via a secure professional online gallery where you can directly download and share photos on your computer or smartphone.
Do you retouch photos?
All photos are captured in raw format and then processed and edited with professional software. No raw images are provided and all images in the gallery are meticulously edited to a high standard. Please let us know if you require additional editing such as acne, scars, etc.
What is your turn around time?
You can expect your photos to be ready for download within 3-4 weeks post your session. However this is subject to change in peak seasons, illness or vacation but this will be communicated with you prior to expected delivery time.
Can you help us with planning?
Definitely! When you get in contact with me to book a session we will discuss in detail your preferences, location, style of shoot, clothing choices and colouring. For newborn shoots you will receive a 'what to expect' handout detailing what you should do to prepare for the session. You can ask any questions you need to help you feel prepared for the session.
How far out do you book?
This can vary month to month so it is always best to book well in advance to avoid disappointment especially the weeks before peak periods such as Christmas or Mothers day.
Do you do any other types of photography other than newborn, maternity and family?
All of my photo sessions are lifestyle, relaxed and fun. I do Newborn, Maternity, Family, Solo and couple shoots but I am always open to new possibilities. I love doing gender reveals and proposals! If you have a specific idea feel free to message me and we can have some fun!!
What should we wear?
We love the warm, natural glow of a scenic golden hour shoot and to tie in with the theme of most of my props in my home studio I suggest wearing neutral colours. White, brown, beige, gingham, etc. However we want you to wear what makes you feel special, beautiful and relaxed! Try not to overthink it! To get the most out of your photos we suggest avoiding clashing patterns, bold colours and obvious prints. You are also welcome to discuss with me options in our client wardrobe.
Why do newborn sessions take so long?
We want to make sure your baby is as comfortable as possible and this can mean stopping the session multiple times for cuddles, feeds, nappy changes, burping, rocking etc. We work around babies needs and work slowly to keep them as calm and sleepy as possible. It is normal for babies to cry a lot during the session and if we remain calm and take our time baby will soon start to relax in the new environment and show us their gorgeous sleepy yawns!
What gestation should I book my maternity session
Honestly whenever you feel comfortable but the sweet spot is between 28-33 weeks or so - Your tummy is popping but you still have plenty of energy! Also booking at this gestation gives us extra time in case of weather reschedules, etc.
Remember to book in advance!
Do you do gift vouchers?
Of course! You can contact me to discuss either an e-gift voucher or pick up in Botanic Ridge. Gift vouchers are for a chosen dollar amount only so they can be used towards any session of the recipients choice.
What happens in the event of unfavourable weather?
Melbourne weather can be unpredictable even in the warmer months - that being said we only need 1 hr of good weather! Usually your session will go ahead unless heavy rain or winds is predicted. Rescheduling will be decided either the day before or day of the session and we will then discuss the next steps.
